How to cook lentils

Lentils


Notes

1/3 cup / 65g = 1 serving

1/2 cup / 100g = 1 large serving


Ingredients

  • 1 part dry lentils
  • 2 parts water

Directions

  • Add water and lentils to pot
  • Heat to boil uncovered on high (about 3 minutes)
  • Reduce heat to low
  • Cover
  • Cook 15 minutes for red / 20 minutes
  • Remove from heat
  • Leave uncovered for 10 minutes

Soak Method

  • 3-4 parts water
  • Remove beans that float to top
  • Soak overnight in fridge
  • Drain / Rinse

Quick Soak Method

Directions

  • 1 part beans
  • 4 parts water
  • Heat to boil
  • Remove from heat, keep covered, let sit for 1 hour
  • Drain / Rinse
