How to cook falafel

Falafel

Makes 1 tray, about 12


Overnight soak

  • 1 cup dry chickpeas in a quart jar full of water
  • Place in fridgerator for 24 hours
  • Rinse

Ingredients

  • Soaked chickpeas
  • 1 onion
  • 1 cup green of choice (parsley, cilantro, spinach, ect)
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tbsp citrus of choice (lemon, lime, orange, ect)
  • 1 tbsp cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne
  • 1 tbsp oil of choice (olive, coconut, ect)

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 400f
  • Add all ingredients to blender
  • Blend on high until smooth and textured
  • Shape into small patties or balls (about 2 inch in size)
  • Place on pan
  • Coat or spray with oil (to make for crisp)
  • Bake for 10 min
  • Flip patties
  • Bake for 10 more minutes
  • Remove from oven and let cool
