How to cook zeli (Saurkraut)

Zeli (Saurkraut)


Ingredients

  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • 1/8 cabbage, shredded
  • 1/4 cup water (just enough to simmer)
  • 1/4 tsp celery seeds (or some other seed)
  • 1/4 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cup red wine vinegar
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • (optional) 1/8 medium onion, chopped

Directions

  • Brown onion in coconut oil (if using onion)
  • Add all remaining ingredients
  • Heat to simmer on high
  • Reduce heat to low and cover
  • Cook for 20 minutes
