Baozi


Ingredients

    Dough

    • 2 tbsp brown sugar
    • 1/4 cup water
    • 1 tbsp water
    • 1 cup flour
    • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
    • 1 tbsp coconut oil

    Teriyaki Chickpea Filling

    • 1/2 can chickpeas (140g)
    • 1 tbsp soy sauce
    • 1 tbsp water
    • 1 tbsp brown sugar
    • 1/4 teaspoon vinegar
    • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1/8 teaspoon ginger powder

Directions

  • Dissolve water and sugar
  • Add remaining dough ingredients
  • Mix into dough
  • Cover and let sit while filling is made
  • Smash chickpeas with fork
  • Put filling ingredients in a small pot and simmer
  • Continue simmering until all sauce is absorbed
  • Get steamer ready
  • While water heats to boil add filling to dough
  • Cut dough into 4 parts and flatten
  • Put filling in and close up
  • Spray bottom of steamer with oil
  • Place dough steamer and steam for 15 minutes
  • Remove and let sit for 5 minutes
