Hickory Lentil Soup (Version 2)
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1/2 onion
- 2 celery stalks
- 2 medium carrots
- 4 cups water
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 cup green lentils
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1/4 tsp thyme
- 1/4 tsp tumeric
- 1/2 tsp parpika
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp maple syrup
- (16 drops) 1 tsp liquid hickory
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp vinegar / wine
- 1 tbsp vegetable bullion
Directions
- Add oil, onions, carrots and celery into pot
- Cook on medium for 5 minutes
- Put all ingredients into pot
- Turn heat to medium and heat to simmer
- Cover with lid with a small gap and reduce heat to low
- Cook for 30 minutes
- Turn off heat and remove lid
- Let stand for 15 minutes
- Serve
